虎峰山，有“重庆小九寨”的一个美称

Mount Hufeng, also known as “the Jiuzhaigou of Chongqing”

cóng wèi xīng dì tú shàng shuǐ tè bié de lán xiàng bǎo shí yī yàng

从卫星地图上，水特别的蓝，像宝石一样

On satellite maps, it looks almost like sapphire

我们是隐居在森林里，是不能直接通车到达的

We live in a forest not accessible by car

dà bù fēn de zhòng qìng rén dōu bù zhī dào zhè lǐ

大部分的重庆人都不知道这里

Most Chongqing natives do not know this place

zhòng qìng sì xià shān yǐn

Chongqing|hiding in the mountains

wǒ jiào cài cài tǔ shēng tǔ zhǎng de zhòng qìng rén

我叫菜菜，土生土长的重庆人

My name is Caicai, born and raised in Chongqing

xiàn zài shì zuò mín sù

现在是做民宿

Now I run my own hostel

wǒ men yī jiā rén dōu shēng huó zài zhè lǐ

我们一家人都生活在这里

My whole family live here

yī zhí dào nián yuè fèn de shí hòu cái zhǎo dào zhè gè dì fāng

一直到（2016年）9月份的时候才找到这个（地方）

We only found this place in September 2016

pá dào nà gè sì miào dǐng shàng qù kàn yǒu diǎn xiàng kàn dào yuán míng yuán de yí jì

爬到那个寺庙顶上去看，有点像看到圆明园的遗迹

If you look at the hostel from the temple, you’ll find it very much like the ruins of the Old Summer Palace

shān dǐng de yī gè pán shān lù biān bù xíng dà gài liǎng sān bǎi mǐ

山顶的一个盘山路边，步行大概两、三百米

Getting off the hillside road on top of the mountain and after two, three hundred meter walk

xià xíng yī duàn qīng shí tái jiē cái néng zǒu dào wǒ men de mín sù

下行一段青石台阶，才能走到我们的民宿

Going down some bluestone stairs and you are at the door step of our hostel

nà tiáo gǔ dào yě hěn tè bié chà bù duō yě yǒu nián de lì shǐ le

那条古道也很特别，差不多也有100年的历史了

It is a special road actually, built one century ago

kě yǐ tīng dào hěn duō de niǎo míng

可以听到很多的鸟鸣

You hear birds chirping all the way

suǒ yǐ wǒ bù xī wàng qù pò huài tā

所以我不希望去破坏它

I don’t want that to change in any way

zuì jiān nán de qíng kuàng xià wǒ men dōu jiān chí xià lái le méi yǒu qù xiū zhè gè lù

最艰难的情况下我们都坚持下来了，没有去修这个路

We went through the most difficult phase without mending the road

yīn wèi lái de shí hòu tā yǐ jīng shì yī gè wēi fáng

因为来的时候它已经是一个危房

The building was already dilapidated when we found it

wǒ jiān chí yī dìng yào bǎ nà gè lǎo qiáng liú xià lái

（我坚持）一定要把那个老墙留下来

I insisted on keeping the old walls

yīn wèi zhè gè shì wǒ dāng shí kàn dào zhè gè fáng zi dì yī yǎn de shí hòu zuì zhèn hàn wǒ

因为这个是我当时看到这个房子第一眼的时候最震撼我

It were the walls that caught me eyes at the first glance

yě shì zuì xǐ huān de gǔ dào cán qiáng de nà zhǒng gǎn jué

也是最喜欢的古道残墙的那种感觉

I just like the feeling of ancient roads and broken walls

èr lóu yǐ shàng cái shì kè fáng

二楼以上才是客房

First story up is guest rooms

wǒ men bǎ dà liàng de kōng jiān dōu liú zuò le gōng gòng kōng jiān

我们把大量的空间都留作了公共空间

Plenty of space is kept as public area

tiān qì hǎo de shí hòu jiù kě yǐ kàn dào yuè liàng rán hòu zǎo shàng kě yǐ kàn rì chū

天气好的时候就可以看到月亮，然后早上可以看日出

And at clear days you can watch the moon or see sunset and dawn

wǒ men yī gòng gè kè fáng rán hòu hái yǒu yī gè zhǔ rén fáng

我们一共7个客房，然后还有一个主人房

We have 7 guest rooms and one room for us to live in

zì jǐ bǐ jiào xǐ huān yóu xíng shū de nà gè fáng jiān

自己比较喜欢油行书的那个房间

I personally prefer the youxingshu room

wǒ men yǒu zuò yī gè xiǎo de chá shì

我们有做一个小的茶室

There is a small tearoom

tuī kāi chuāng hù jiù néng kàn dào hǔ fēng sì de jī guān shí de nà gè yí zhǐ

推开窗户就能看到虎峰寺的鸡冠石的那个遗址

The windows of the tearoom open to the Jiguan stone on Mount Hufeng

zhī qián yǒu lái yī qún duō suì de yé yé nǎi nǎi

之前有来一群70多岁的爷爷奶奶

One time we had a group of senior guests

wǎn shàng chī wán fàn jiù jià gè xiǎo zhuō zi hěn yōu yǎ dì zài dǎ má jiāng

晚上吃完饭就架个小桌子，很优雅地在打麻将

And they played mahjong after dinner

qí shí duì yú lǎo nián rén lái shuō wǒ men zhè dào dá xìng bù shì nà me hǎo

其实对于老年人来说，我们这到达性不是那么好

To be honest our location is not particularly friendly to seniors

dàn shì néng gǎn jué dào tā men zài zhè lǐ dù guò de zhè yī liǎng tiān

但是能感觉到他们在这里度过的这一两天

But still we could see

tā men shì hěn yú kuài de

他们是很愉快的

That they had a great time during their stay

jiù lí wǒ men mín sù jiù gōng chǐ ba jiào wǔ cǎi hú

就离我们民宿就10公尺吧，叫五彩湖

About 10 meters from our hostel there is a lake, the Five Color Lake

xià tiān hěn duō rén zài nà ér yóu yǒng

夏天很多人在那儿游泳

Many swim in the lake during summer

yán zhù gǔ dào wǎng xià miàn zǒu de huà jiù yǒu yī gè gèng dà de jiào yún quán hú

沿著古道往下面走的话，就有一个更大的叫云泉湖

And further down the road there is a bigger one, the Cloud Spring Lake

dōu shì yī xiē yě shēng de nà zhǒng yú

都是一些野生的那种鱼

And in that lake live wild fishes

wǒ bà bǐ jiào xǐ huān diào yú rán hòu huí lái zuò gěi kè rén chī

我爸比较喜欢钓鱼，然后回来做给客人（吃）

My father loves fishing and cooking fishes for our guests

xiū jiàn mín sù fèi yòng de huà qián qián hòu hòu chà bù duō duō wàn

修建民宿费用的话，前前后后差不多500多万

Building the hostel cost us about five million yuan

zhè gè lǐ miàn yǒu wǒ men de fù mǔ de

这个里面有我们的、父母的

We, my parents, we all pitched in

hái yǒu wǒ men dǐ yā de fáng zi de dài kuǎn

还有我们抵押的房子的贷款

And we also got a mortgage

rán hòu yǒu qīn qī péng yǒu de

然后有亲戚朋友的

And we borrowed from relatives and friends

jī běn shàng shì bǎ zì jǐ suǒ yǒu de dōng xī dōu tóu rù jìn qù le

基本上是把自己所有的东西都投入进去了

Basically we are all in

méi yǒu hé huǒ rén méi yǒu tóu zī rén

没有合伙人，没有投资人

We don’t have partners and no one invested in us

cóng kāi shǐ yào zhǔn bèi kāi shǐ zuò zhè gè shì qíng dào xiàn zài yǒu nián duō

从开始要准备开始做这个事情到现在有3年多

And in the past three years

shì méi yǒu rèn hé shōu rù de

是没有任何收入的

We had no income

dào zhè gè shān tóu zuò le gè mín sù

到这个山头做了个民宿

If building this hostel

rú guǒ néng gòu ràng zhè gè dì fāng cóng cǐ biàn dé bù yī yàng

如果能够让这个地方从此变得不一样

Could make a difference to the place

wǒ jué dé zhè gè cái shì yī gè bǐ jiào yǒu yì yì de shì qíng

我觉得这个才是一个比较有意义的事情

That’s meaningful enough for me
