My home is located in Qingpu, Shanghai

It’s about twenty or thirty kilometers from the downtown

suǒ yǐ měi cì wǒ fēn xiǎng huā huā cǎo cǎo de shí hòu

所以每次我分享花花草草的时候

So every time when I share my plants with people online

jiù huì yǒu rén zài xià miàn píng lùn shuō wǒ shì qīng pǔ lǐ zi qī

就会有人在下面评论说我是“青浦李子柒”

They would comment me as ‘Li Ziqi in Qingpu’

zhè gè fáng zi yǒu duō píng fāng mǐ

这个房子有300多平方米

The house covers an area of over 300 m2

duō píng fāng mǐ de huā yuán

200多平方米的花园

I also have a garden of more than 200 m2

I live here with my family and a cat named Zongzi

I came to Shanghai to study in 2003, and then I started my career here

I lived in the busiest area in Xujiahui

My place was small and narrow

每天早上跟很多上班族一样

Every morning, like lots of office workers

mǎi le bāo zi dòu jiāng jǐ dì tiě

买了包子、豆浆，挤地铁

I bought baozi and soy milk, and took the subway to my workplace

wǒ tǎo yàn gēn fáng dōng zhōng jiè dǎ jiāo dào

我讨厌跟房东、中介打交道

I hated dealing with landlords or realtors

nián suǒ xìng zì jǐ mǎi yī tào fáng

（2010年）索性自己买一套房

So I bought a house in 2010

wǒ shì xǐ huān kōng jiān de yī zhǒng tōng tòu gǎn

我是喜欢空间的一种通透感

I like openness

hěn pà bì sāi

很怕闭塞

I’m afraid of enclosed places

jiù méi yǒu zuò rèn hé de gé duàn

就没有做任何的隔断

So I make no partition

tōng guò yī gè shū jià jiāng cān tīng hé kè tīng gé lí chū lái

通过一个书架，将餐厅和客厅隔离出来

I separate the dining room and the living room with a bookshelf

kè tīng duì zhù zhěng miàn luò dì chuāng

客厅对著整面落地窗

At the opposite of the living room are French windows

wǒ men jiā méi yǒu rén kàn diàn shì

我们家没有人看电视

None of my family watches tv

xuǎn le hóng sè de mù bù zuò wèi chuāng lián

选了红色的幕布作为窗帘

I choose red curtains

yǒu yī zhǒng xì jù gǎn

有一种戏剧感

They offer a sense of drama

zhè gè chuāng hù jiù biàn chéng le yī fú huà

这个窗户就变成了一幅画

The windows then become a painting

zhōng guó rén duì yán sè dōu shì fēi cháng de jǐn shèn hé bǎo shǒu de

中国人对颜色都是非常的谨慎和保守的

Chinese are cautious and conservative about colors

我（以前）在配色上面胆子小，白色为主

I used to be prudent about using colors and my home was mainly white

There’s a jewelry box upstairs

It was made from English oak

fěn sè de sī chóu zuò wèi tā de yī gè dǎ dǐ

粉色的丝绸作为它的一个打底

And it has pink silk at the bottom

干我们这一行的经常都是颈椎不太好

Authors often have bad cervical vertebrae

通过瑜伽来做治疗

Since I’ve chosen to move away from the downtown

我已经做好了管理自己欲望的准备

I’m ready to control my desire

wǒ zhī qián dú guò sān pǔ zhǎn de yī běn shū xià liú shè huì

我之前读过（三浦展的）一本书，《下流社会》

I once read a book called Karyū Shakai (Low-stream Society by Miura Atsushi)

méi yǒu nà me zài yì qù fú hé shè huì de zhǔ liú qū shì

没有那么在意去符合社会的主流趋势

I’m not so concerned to conform to the society’s mainstream

wǒ xiàn zài jiù jué dé zuò yī gè xià liú rén tǐng hǎo de

我现在就觉得做一个“下流人”挺好的

Now I feel good to be a “low-stream’ person
