在家里面基本上你不用拉窗帘

We seldom draw the curtains at home

hòu lái wǒ men bǎ dì èr tào fáng zi zū xià lái

（后来）我们把第二套房子租下来

Later we rented the second apartment

qí shí zuì zhǔ yào shì yīn wèi hái zi bǐ jiào dà le

其实最主要（是因为）孩子比较大了

The main reason was that our children had grown up

xū yào yī gè xiāng duì gèng dà yī diǎn de kōng jiān

需要一个相对更大一点的空间

And a relatively large space became necessary

cān zhuō shì yī jiā rén yī dìng huì jù zài yī qǐ de dì fāng

餐桌是一家人一定会聚在一起的地方

The dining table is a place where families get together

zhǐ yǒu chī fàn yòng yǒu diǎn kě xī

只有吃饭用有点可惜

It's a bit of a pity if it is only used for dining

suǒ yǐ wǒ huì ràng cān zhuō de qíng jǐng zuò zhuǎn huàn

So the table shifts between situations

When I'm exhausted and desperately need a good rest

It empties my mind

Chinese bring natural stones home

就是一方小天地

I don't copy religious texts

也不抄书

Or scriptures

也不临帖

Or practice after a model

纯粹在写写设计方案

I write design plans with brush

tè bié shū fú

特别舒服

It feels very nice

bǐ xiě yuán zhū bǐ zhè xiē lái de shū fú duō le

比写圆珠笔这些来的舒服多了

Much better than writing with a ballpoint pen

yí shì gǎn bù shì zhuāng chū lái de

仪式感不是装出来的

The sense of ceremony should not be faked

ér shì nǐ zì rán ér rán yào zhè me zuò de

而是你自然而然要这么做的

It's something you naturally do
