2014年的6月份，我第一次来场地

My first ever visit here was in June 2014

tā yǒu yī gè bā shí nián dài lǎo de diàn yǐng yuàn

它有一个八十年代老的电影院

There was a cinema built in the 80s

yǐ jīng fèi qì le

已经废弃了

And it’s now abandoned

nà zhǒng lì shǐ gǎn hé níng jìng de gǎn jué fēi cháng de qiáng liè

那种历史感和宁静的感觉非常的强烈

You feel a sense of history in this peaceful small village

zuò zhè me yī gè kā fēi zhuāng yuán

做这么一个咖啡庄园

A coffee manor was planned

zhè lǐ miàn hái xiǎng zuò yī gè kā fēi bó wù guǎn

这里面还想做一个咖啡博物馆

And a coffee museum

jiàn zhù yǒu píng mǐ

建筑有2000平米

The complex covers a land area of 2000 square meters

zhǔ tǐ jiàn zhù yǒu liǎng dòng

主体建筑有两栋

It’s composed of two main buildings

yī dòng shì yǒu sān céng

一栋是有三层

One is a three-storey structure

yǒu kā fēi de jiā gōng hé chǔ cáng de yī xiē gōng néng

有咖啡的加工和储藏的一些功能

Which serves the function of processing coffee and storage

yī dòng yǒu liǎng céng

一栋有两层

The other two-storey building

jiù shì hē kā fēi de dì fāng

就是喝咖啡的地方

Is where we drink coffee

yī dào dá de zhè gè shì zuì zhōng xīn de yī gè dà de tíng yuàn

一到达的这个是最中心的一个大的庭院

In the middle is a huge yard

rén néng gòu wéi rào zhè gè tíng yuàn

人能够围绕这个庭院

And there are interconnected corridors

zài lián láng lǐ miàn kě yǐ hěn zì yóu dì dào dá bù tóng de kōng jiān

在连廊里面可以很自由地到达不同的空间

Through them you can reach different spaces

jìn rù dào lián láng yǐ hòu

进入到连廊以后

The corridors

kě yǐ kàn dào dì èr gè tíng yuàn

可以看到第二个庭院

Will lead you to the second yard

zhōng xīn zhèng hǎo shì zhè kē yǒu nián shù líng de zhè gè dà róng shù

中心正好是这棵有250年树龄的这个大榕树

Centered by a big Banyan tree which is almost 250 years old

lián láng lǐ miàn yǒu yī gè lóu tī

连廊里面有一个楼梯

Inside there is a staircase

kě yǐ xià dào zhè gè xià chén tíng yuàn

可以下到这个下沉庭院

It leads to a sunken courtyard

tā shì yī gèng jiā shù xiàng gèng shēn

它是一更加竖向，更深

This courtyard is deeper, more vertical

xiàng tiān kōng zhì jìng de zhè yàng yī gè tíng yuàn

向天空致敬的这样一个庭院

It pays tribute to the sky

cóng lián láng jìn rù dào zhǔ tǐ jiàn zhù

从连廊进入到主体建筑

Then we enter the main building

cóng yī céng dào èr céng

从一层到二层

From ground floor to the upper floor

cóng èr céng dào sān céng de lóu tī dōu shì miàn xiàng zhù nèi bù tíng yuàn de

从二层到三层的楼梯都是面向著内部庭院的

And upper floor to the second floor

tòu guò chuāng dòng kàn dào yī piàn lǜ sè

透过窗洞看到一片绿色

You always face the courtyard and there is always green in front of your eyes

sān céng de shí hòu

三层的时候

On the second floor

nǐ xū yào zhuǎn guò shēn lái

你需要转过身来

You turn around

rán hòu cái kàn dào miàn xiàng gāo lí gòng shān hé nù jiāng de fēng jǐng

然后才看到面向高黎贡山和怒江的风景

And the view of the Gaoligong Mountains and the Nujiang River presents itself

huō rán kāi lǎng

豁然开朗

It’s like seeing the light all of a sudden

zhè gè fáng zi zǒng gòng yòng le wàn kuài zhuān

这个房子总共用了76万块砖

In total we used 760 thousand bricks

qí zhōng hóng zhuān yòng le duō wàn kuài

其中红砖用了40多万块

More than 400 thousand of them are common bricks

huī zhuān shì duō wàn kuài

灰砖是30多万块

And the rest are grey bricks

chéng xiàn chū yī gè wài huī nèi hóng de tè diǎn

呈现出一个外灰内红的特点

So it’s basically grey on the outside and red on the inside

chuán tǒng de jiàn zào lǐ miàn

传统的建造里面

In traditional construction

zhuān rú guǒ xiǎng yào chéng wèi jié gòu de xíng shì

砖如果想要成为结构的形式

The ancient and most natural way of combing bricks into some kind of a structure

tā zuì gǔ lǎo de yě zuì zì rán de yī zhǒng fāng shì jiù shì gǒng

它最古老的也最自然的一种方式就是拱

Is arching

xīn jiàn zhù de yī céng

新建筑的一层

The ground floor of the main building

qiàn zài zhè gè dì xíng dāng zhōng

嵌在这个地形当中

Is well-incorporated into the terrain

shì kā fēi dòu de chǔ cáng kōng jiān

（是）咖啡豆的储藏空间

It’s for the storage of coffee beans

cǎi yòng le shí zì gǒng zhè yàng yī zhǒng lèi xíng

采用了十字拱这样一种类型

These cross-shaped arches

zuì yǒu tiāo zhàn de jiù shì zài zhè gè shí zì gǒng

最有挑战的就是在这个十字拱

Are particularly challenging to pull together

hé dù jiāo xiàn de dì fāng xū yào kǎn zhuān

和45度交线的地方需要砍砖

The bricks at the intersection have to be shaped

suí zhù zhè gè gǒng de jiāo xiàn shàng qù

随著这个拱的交线上去

And along the intersection

měi yī pí de zhuān xū yào kǎn de jiǎo dù dōu shì bù yī yàng de

每一皮的砖需要砍的角度都是不一样的

Each brick is shaped specifically for its position

wán quán tōng guò gōng rén shī fù de zhè gè mù cè hé shǒu tóu gōng fū lái kòng zhì

完全通过工人师傅的这个目测和手头功夫来控制

And that relies completely on the craftsman’s estimation and experience

zài èr céng cǎi yòng le píng xíng de dān xiàng gǒng

在二层采用了平行的单向拱

On the upper floor we have parallel arches

chuāng hù de shè jì zài zhù zi hé shàng miàn de gǒng zhī jiān

窗户的设计在柱子和上面的拱之间

And between the window and the arch

jiù shì yī gè fēi cháng dà de kāi dòng

就是一个非常大的开洞

A wide opening is left intentionally

méi yǒu chuāng kuāng de

没有窗框的

Without any frame

jiù shì yī kuài bō lí

就是一块玻璃

A piece of glass

zhí jiē qiàn rù chuāng dòng lǐ miàn

直接嵌入窗洞里面

Embedded directly in the opening

bǎ fēng jǐng zuì dà dì yǐn rù dào nèi bù

把风景最大地引入到内部

To invite the view as much as possible into the building

zhè gè fáng zi cóng xià dào shàng

这个房子从下到上

From bottom to top

cóng hòu zhòng dào tòu míng de yī zhǒng zhuǎn biàn

从厚重到透明的一种转变

The building transforms from thick to light

shì yī gè cóng dà dì xiàng tiān kōng zhú jiàn guò dù de yī gè fāng shì

是一个从大地向天空逐渐过渡的一个方式

It represents the transition from the earth to the sky

jiù xiàng kā fēi shì shēng zhǎng zài tǔ lǐ miàn

就像咖啡是生长在土里面

Just as coffee trees have their roots in soil

zhè gè jiàn zhù yě shì cóng tǔ lǐ miàn shēng zhǎng chū lái

这个建筑也是从土里面生长出来

The building also grows out of the earth

fáng zi jiàn chéng yǐ hòu kǒu bēi xiāng chuán

房子建成以后，口碑相传

Through word of mouth, many people hear about us

yě yǒu hěn duō bǎo shān dāng dì zhōu biān de rén lái zhè ér

也有很多保山当地周边的人来这儿

And we receive local visitors from around Baoshan

kàn yī kàn zhè gè jiàn zhù

看一看这个建筑

They would check out the building

tóng shí yě lái hē hē kā fēi

同时也来喝喝咖啡

And have a cup of coffee
