《史记．司马相如列传论》"相如虽多虚辞滥说，然其要归引之节俭，此与《诗》之风谏何异。扬雄以为靡丽之赋，劝百风一，犹驰骋郑卫之声，曲终而奏雅，不已亏乎?"意为乐曲到结束时奏出了雅正的乐音。本谓相如的辞赋不够完美，到了结尾才转好，后多以"曲终奏雅"比喻文章或艺术表演到终了时更加精采。
