MEANING OF 因噎废食
lit. not eating for fear of choking (idiom); fig. to cut off one's nose to spite one's face / to avoid sth essential because of a slight risk
The original intention was to say that because someone choked to death after eating, I wanted people in the world not to eat. This is ridiculous / Metaphorically, the thing to be done is simply not done due to a minor problem or fear of problems
因为吃东西噎住就停止进食。比喻做事出了点问题就停止不干了同学搞实验，会产生某些问题，但决不能因噎废食，因此而废除实验课。
